In loving memory of Gus Papas, 89, who passed away peacefully on February 10 in Paxton. Gus is survived by his loving faithful wife of over 50 years Rose Papas. Gus didn’t have biological children of his own but he was a stepfather, a grandfather and a great-grandfather. Gus also leaves behind his brother Jim, in Greece and 3 nieces. Gus came to America at the young age of 15 to help his family. As a very young man he joined the Army and proudly served this country. Gus was best known for being the owner of the “Route 49 Lounge” in Rankin for over 20 years. Gus was also known for his big vegetable garden that he grew every year that he loved to share. Instead of flowers, donations may be made to Lurie Children’s Foundation.
