Today is

Ilsa Walden

Ilsa “Izzy” Krasnowski Walden was born March 29, 1977 in Evergreen Park near waldenChicago, IL and lived fully every minute of her life. She left this earth, too soon, on Monday, May 6, 2019.

She was a true original, larger than life, and a very compassionate human being. She was the center of the activity wherever she was and welcoming to everyone.

Her current husband Jake, and her two girls – Jillian and Dharma – were the focus of her life and she was the heart of the family. In addition to her human family she had a furry family of five. She was a caring and supportive mother and friend – including a “Mother of Pitbulls,” and was fantastic at raising two wonderful, unique daughters.

Her smile and laugh were contagious, and the social-butterfly Izzy loved helping people no matter the circumstances. While others might make a note of injustice, Izzy had no hesitation in identifying it and then taking action - jumping in, fighting the wrongs she saw in the world and telling others in case they wanted to help in the fight as well.

She was talented and creative and willing to try anything with her whole heart – think Roller Derby where she left her fair share of hip checks and bruises! She was witty and passionate and concentrating on growing spiritually as an adult and leading the way for others. Her resilience and self-confidence made her a role model to her girls and friends, and she will be missed by everyone she knew.

Services will be private.

Heath and Vaughn Funeral Home, 201 N. Elm, Champaign, is assisting the family with arrangements.
