William “Bill” Santic passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at home.
Bill was born on August 18, 1956, a son of Nora and Joseph Santic.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Pam Santic, and his 15-year-old son, Joseph. Other survivors are his brother, Marty Santic and his wife Renee; his nieces, Megan and Heather and their spouses and children; and his nephew, Adam.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John.
Bill worked in the Labor Union in Chicago. He worked in the steel mills and in the auto industry. He then went to Purdue University and received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He worked as a computer consultant for several years. He then changed careers and worked in property management and also ran a pizza place in Champaign. The last 20 years he has owned rental property in Urbana and Champaign.
Bill served as Treasurer and Assistant Cub Master for Troop 6 for several years. He continued volunteering for the Cub Scouts by assisting with the Pinewood Derby the last several years. His hope was that his son would become an Eagle Scout.
Visitation will be at 10:30 and the funeral will be at 11:30, Wednesday, October 14, at Heath & Vaughn Funeral Home, 201 N. Elm Street, Champaign, with Pastor Deborah Owen officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
