William “Bill” McCall, 91, of Champaign passed away on Monday, April 15, 2019, at Country Health and Rehab, Gifford.

mccallFuneral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 19. 2019 at Heath and Vaughn Funeral Home, 201 N. Elm, Champaign, with Pastor Naomi Roberts officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday April 18, 2019, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens.

Mr. McCall was born November 2, 1927, in Mansfield, IL to Kenneth W. and Gladys B. (Thomas) McCall. He married Jean E. Woller on December 20, 1952; she preceded him in death on February 27, 2011

Surviving are three children, Daniel (Pam) McCall of Champaign, David McCall of Champaign, and Debra “Sam” McCall of Thomasboro; two grandchildren, Jay Weber of Champaign and Amee (Terry) Lemke of Rantoul; 5 great-grandchildren, 3 great- great grandchildren, with one more on the way; and one brother, John Tatman, Jr. of Las Vegas.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert McCall and Donald McCall Sr., and two sisters, Jean Gagliano and Mary Ellen Tatman.

He worked his adult life as a bricklayer, retiring from Bricklayers Local 8.

His interests included horses, bowling, love of country music (especially Hank Williams, Sr.) and a love of the Chicago Cubs and U of I athletics.

Special thanks to Transitions Hospice, Villas of Hollybrook (Savoy), and Country Health and Rehab (Gifford, IL) and their staffs for the excellent care Bill receive the last 2 1/2 years.  A special thank you to Nicole from Transitions Hospice for the service and kindness she provided.
