Juanita Bray James

Juanita Bray James passed away at the age of 94 at 10:30 a.m. on the morning of August 31, 2020.

jamesNina was a great lady and loved by all. She had a great smile and never met a stranger.

She lost two brothers, Lawrence and Horace Williams. One brother, Marion Mitchell survives.

She worked in the Champaign-Urbana area most of her life. She was a nurse and worked for Dr. Delbrage for many years in the 1960’s. he was also a server at the Champaign Elks Club for over 23 years when it was located on Hill Street.

She is also survived by a daughter, Marita Sue Robinson; and a son, Noel Gene Bray; 6 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Also preceding Mrs. James in death include a daughter, Eileeta Kay Peterson, and a son, James Dee Bray.

Her final resting place will be at Jefferson Barracks Military Cemetery by her request to be with her late husband, Master Sgt. Donald E. James.

A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.

The Grady family wants extend our sympathy the Juanita’s family. We all have great memories of growing up on Rosewood Dr. and sharing a backyard fence with the Bray kids. Such great neighbors - so many years ago. Sorry for your loss!
