Anita Faye (Isom) Hamand

A memorial service and visitation for Anita Faye (Isom) Hamand, will be from 10 hamanda.m. until noon on Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Heath and Vaughn Funeral Home, 201 N. Elm, Champaign.

Mrs. Hamand went to be with the Lord at 6:48 a.m., May 21, 2015, at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, after a courageous battle with liver and kidney complications.

She was born September 11, 1955, in Charleston, Ill., the daughter of William and Helen (Anita) Isom. They preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was a brother, William Isom.

She married Jerry Ray Hamand on Oct 14, 1993. He survives.

Also surviving are Goldilocks, her adored and spoiled golden retriever; a brother, Robert (Bob) Isom; nephews, Matthew Romeling, Jonathan Isom, Christopher (Joe) Isom, Joshua Isom and Patrick Olson; nieces, Kellene Isom, Jami Isom and Samantha Olson; great-nephews, Jakaiece Nickerson, Miroslav, Caelan and Corwyn Isom, Benjamin and Myles Olson; great-nieces, Macheila and Mariya Anderson, and Karinadee Nickerson; and sister-in-law, Sandra Isom, widow of William (Billy) Isom.

Anita graduated from Centennial High School and attended Parkland and Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Mo.

Anita spent many years working at WVLJ radio station and went on to work at Kiddie Country Daycare and School in Urbana, where her passion for children was found.

Anita loved to volunteer. She volunteered with Royal Rangers and Children’s Church for over 40 years.

She loved giving — she had such a big heart for those in need, trying to meet everyone’s needs. Anita always wanted to make everyone around her happy, always giving gifts and spoiling those around her. Anita gave to multiple ministries.

Anita loved interacting and teaching children, scrap booking, playing the piano and teaching music. She led and directed the Kitchen Band for many years, loving each and every lady and moment she had with them. Anita adored the time she had with family. She showed how much she cherished that time by trying to capture every moment of it on her cameras.

Her many friends and family loved her dearly; we miss her so much but are comforted in knowing she is rejoicing and dancing without pain in heaven.

In lieu of flowers, please consider the needs of the family. Suggested memorial contributions may be made to Jerry Hamand personally.

Condolences

Larry and my hearts go out to Anitas family at this time. The last weeks and months have been long, full of ups and downs. We esp send prayers to Jerry, who spent long days and nights on St Louis...away from home and loved ones to be with Anita. Am sure it meant a lot to her.

Prayers and deep love to Samantha and her family...who lost someone so special that touched their lives in a way that will be w them forever. We know the agony it was for you to be so far away from her those final days..but rest assured...she knew you were with her in heart, spirit, and prayer. Most of all..she knew you loved her. She enjoyed the time at your home...I know cause July 4ths Anita told me she was happy to be included. Esp to see the wee ones!

May you find solace in knowing she's at peace...no pain...and with the Lord. Let her memories flood over you with warmth, smiles, and laughter....keep them alive.

God Bless You.

Sincerely,
Larry and Julia Camp
