Ronald Brunelle

Ronald “Ron” Brunelle of Champaign passed away Friday, October 1, at Carle Hospital. He was born September 3, 1938 to John and Mary Brunelle in Winooski, Vermont.

Ron married Judith Applegate on July 9, 1960 in Gibson City, Illinois. She survives along with two sons, David of Urbana and Gregory of Champaign, and two granddaughters Ashley Brunelle of Champaign, and Kimberly Brunelle of Longview, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.

Ron served in the U. S. Air Force at Chanute Air Force from 1956-60. After his service, he worked for 4 years at McDonnell-Douglas as a jet engine mechanic on F4F fighters. He retired from the University of Illinois in 2003 where he worked in logistics at the motor pool.

A graveside service will be held at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign, at 1 P.M., Thursday, October 7.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.
