Clyde V. Bourland, Jr.
Celebration of Life Memorial Services for Clyde V. Bourland, Jr., 92, of Longview will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014, at Heath and Vaughn Funeral Home, 201 N. Elm, Champaign.
Mr. Bourland passed away on Nov. 10, 2014, at 6:25 p.m. at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
He was born September 4, 1922, in Detroit, Michigan, a son of Clyde and Lilian (Dame) Bourland, Sr. They preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Earl, Bob, and Chuck Bourland; and one sister Medabeth Lloyde.; one son, Mike Bourland, and one great-grandson, Dakota.
Surviving are two daughters, Peggy Cornelissen and Laura J. Bourland, both of Longview; one son, Paul Bourland, of Champaign; one sister, Wanda Leslie, of Warren, Michigan; seven grandchildren: Brian Houser, Kathy Houser, Jason Smith, Andrew Bourland, Jamie Sheppard, Bobby Bourland, and Maggie Bourland; and nine great-grandchildren: Tyler Sheppard, Jonathon Siler, Victoria Sheppard, Gage Whisler, Hunter Warlock, Hannah Bourland, and Alayna Bourland.
Mr. Bourland was self-employed as a carpenter, working until age 91. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
His hobbies included playing bingo and drinking coffee with his friends at the donut shop.

My sincere condolences to Clyde’s family. He has helped me in so many ways throughout the years. I regret that I will be unable to attend the services, but all of you are in my thoughts and prayers.
