Lula Leona Archer
Celebration of Life memorial services for Lula Leona Archer, 85, of Champaign, will be at 11 a.m., Friday, March 18, 2016, at University Place Christian Church, 403 S. Wright St., Champaign.
The Rev. Kris Light will officiate.
Heath and Vaughn Funeral Home, 201 N. Elm, Champaign, is assisting with arrangements.
Mrs. Archer passed away on March 11, 2016 at 2:01 a.m. at home.
She was born May 28, 1930 in Bentonville, Ark., a daughter of Jesse and Azlee (Willis) Hudson. They preceded her in death.
She married Bernard Milford Archer on Nov. 29, 1957, in Kansas City, Mo. He survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Susan J. Butt and son-in-law, Abbas A. Butt, of Champaign; a son, B. Mark Archer, of Calgary, Alberta Canada; and two sisters: Leona Jones, of Glendale, AZ. and Nadine Jacobs, of Byron Center, MI.; and three grandchildren, Kristin, Sarah and Emilie.
Mrs. Archer lived in Canada for 47 years. During that time, she proudly volunteered over 3,000 hours in hospice and palliative care. She also served as a citizen escort for the prison escort services in Moncton, New Brunswick. She was member of the Church of the Nazarene in Moncton.

We were saddened to read in the Canada Atlantic District newsletter that Lulu had passed away. While we did not know her well, we know that the ministry you shared together continues to bear fruit across Canada.
